Drawings of the 20th century Spanish

Coming from the Mapfre Foundation in Madrid, the collection, which has the design as protagonist, wants to establish a dialogue between artists of different styles and techniques.
Background prior art, the drawings are but a mere study to arrive at the final work of art. From the modern era, however, the sketches have been also considered artwork.
"The works on paper is very delicate, but it is also more personal. The design captures the first and most sincere artist's inspiration," says Pablo Jiménez, director of the Cultural Institute Foundation Mapfre. At shows, predecessors of modernity are accompanied by Spanish masters of the international forefront. Not to scare the reader: each of the designs is accompanied by a critical comment that explains its meaning within the history of the artist.
